Expert of the Center for Military-Political Journalism Boris Rozhin informed in his Telegram channel that the Ukrainian authorities have not discharged water from the Dnieper at the Srednedneprovskaya hydroelectric station since April.
As a result of these actions, Rozhin said, the water rises, flooding the settlements upstream.
“At the moment, local authorities are evacuating the civilian population that they themselves flooded. Until mid-May, water may partially destroy the dam and begin to drown settlements downstream,” he wrote.
Rozhin warned that in the event of an instant discharge, the flow would sweep all the way to the Kakhovskaya HPP.
“Since the locks of the Kakhovskaya HPP are in an emergency condition, the discharge will lead to their destruction and further flooding of the territories downstream,” the expert concluded.
