Prilepin: the first warnings about threats from Ukraine came in 2017

The first reports of threats from Ukraine began to come to Zakhar Prilepin back in 2017, he was “in the top five for liquidation,” the writer’s press service reported.

“For the first time, I was informed that several sabotage groups from Ukraine were working for me in the DPR, back in 2017. I was in the top five for liquidation. I was then the deputy commander of the reconnaissance and assault battalion of the DPR special forces regiment, ” transmits “RIA Novosti” with reference to the press service.

According to Prilepin, last year, sappers “removed land mines” twice near his house in Donetsk, and the last time he received a warning from the security services before leaving the LPR. The incident will not affect his decision to serve on a contract basis in the National Guard, the writer said.

“We have all the officers in the battalion with several wounds, shell shocks and, finally, assassination attempts. This is the usual way of working on the other side. We really don’t know everything. There were several dozen attempts on Zakharchenko. Givi and Motorola died in the assassination attempts. Sometimes it’s even safer to be on the line of contact,” transmit See also Izvestia with reference to the press service.

Prilepin’s car was blown up on the morning of May 6 in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result of the explosion, Prilepin’s assistant and ally, Alexander Shubin, a native of Lugansk, who previously served in the LPR, died. The writer himself suffered and underwent surgery.

May 8 Semenovsky District Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region sent Alexander Permyakov, accused of attempted murder of Prilepin, was taken into custody for two months. Permyakov was charged with a terrorist attack (Article 205 of the Criminal Code) and illegal arms trafficking (Article 222 of the Criminal Code). Prior to this, the accused confessed to working for the Ukrainian special services.

On the eve of May 7, Prilepin spoke for the first time about the circumstances of the incident. In particular, he clarified that during the explosion he was driving, and his deceased colleague was driving on the right in the passenger seat. According to him, after the explosion, he lost consciousness for three minutes, and local residents helped him get out of the car. He was then taken by helicopter to the hospital, where he was told that two mines had been placed. Both of Prilepin’s legs are broken “and there’s something else.” The writer also confirmed that he dropped his daughter off five minutes before the explosion.
