Canoeing, kayaking, and Dragon boating competitions will be held on Sredniy Kaban Lake in the capital of the republic on September 17: on the basis of the Center for Rowing Sports, IA Tatar-inform reports.
The championship of Tatarstan in kayaking and canoeing, the competition in memory of the honored coach of the RSFSR Nikolai Teterkin, the race on dragon boats “Zilant Cup” will take place.
The opening is scheduled for 12:00, the first start is at 13:00. Teams of organizations and enterprises of the republic will take part in the competitions on dragon boats.
Roman Fedotov, Vice-President of the Rowing Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about the growing popularity of kayaking and canoeing. He expressed the hope that the audience will fall in love with the young form of racing – on dragon boats. The type of competition that came from Asia develops team spirit and unites the team. For the first time they were held in Tatarstan as part of the Russian championship in kayaking and canoeing at the initiative of the President of the Republican Federation of kayaking and canoeing – Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko.
