Round table on creative industries

Why are the creative industries skeptical about university programs? What competencies are important for the growth of the creative economy? How and what to teach future creators? These issues will be discussed by the participants of the round table “City University and Creative Industries: Interaction for Development” at the Moscow State Pedagogical University.

September 19, 17:00, Moscow City Pedagogical University will talk about the results of a study of the request of employers of the creative industries in Moscow in relation to the competencies that are required on the market there today. A quarter of the country’s able-bodied population works in the creative industry, while less than half of the workers in this area have specialized education, and university graduates do not always have the necessary competencies for successful employment in the creative industries.

Experts – Anastasia Belolutskaya, Head of the Laboratory of Professional Competences and Adult Development of Moscow State Pedagogical University; Oksana Silantyeva, Director of the Silamedia Multimedia Experience Laboratory, Olga Kiseleva, Head of the Department of Social and Cultural Activities and Performing Arts, Head of the Master’s Program in Event Technology in the Creative Leisure Industry at the Institute of Culture and Arts of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, will discuss the following topics:

— the results of the Moscow State Pedagogical University study “Representations of employers about the competencies necessary for the development of the creative economy of Moscow”;

— how to make education in the field of creative industries flexible;

— interaction between the city university and creative business;

– university professional training programs for the creative industries;
