The Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk has stopped deliveries of a diabetes drug called Ozempik to Russia, TASS reports citing a report by Roszdravnadzor.
The drug, which includes semaglutide, is on the list of vital and essential drugs.
Roszdravnadzor received a notice to stop deliveries in November last year. The manufacturer of medicines is required by law to notify the authorities in advance about the termination of supplies to the country.
At the same time, the department stated that, according to working information from the manufacturer of the drug, the medicine will be supplied to Russia until December 2023.
However, the MK journalist who gave Ozempikom injections said that he had not been able to buy it in a popular drug ordering service for a year. According to him, for some time there were tablets with the same active ingredient, but now they are gone.
“MK” checked: the site lists a drug with semaglutide in the composition at a price of 9808 rubles for 30 tablets, but it is not available.
