Serial production of the Okhotnik heavy attack drone is planned to begin in the next one or two years, said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec. He claims that none of the NATO countries has analogues of UAVs.

Mr. Artyakov said that the drone is now being tested. He assures that the concept of the UAV “is unique in itself.” “Neither the Americans, nor NATO, nor any of the countries have such an apparatus,” said the first deputy general director of Rostec in an interview with Rossiya 24 (TASS quote).

The Sukhoi company (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, owned by Rostec) has been working on the Okhotnik UAV since 2011. Its first experimental prototype took to the skies in August 2019. The second apparatus with a flat jet nozzle was rolled out of the workshop of the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant in December 2021. May 2022 passed testing of the prototype “Hunter”.
