Russia will continue testing the Hermes anti-tank system with a range of up to 100 km. About it told “RIA Novostiam” in the Instrument Design Bureau (KBP), which is part of “Rostec”.
“The Hermes complex is being tested. The decision on the delivery will be made based on the results of the tests, ”they said.
Now work is underway to modernize the complex “taking into account changes in the situation and tasks.”
The Hermes high-precision missile system of the new generation, the development of which has been known since 2015, was for the first time presented at the forum “Army-2020”. As Rostec noted then, it occupies a niche between guided artillery shells and operational-tactical systems. Volley fire from the Hermes is carried out according to the “fire and forget” principle, simultaneously firing can be carried out at six targets.
Earlier in mid-May, Techmash, a member of Rostec informed on the start of the serial launch of the Armored Pilot missile intended for use by Su-25 aircraft, military helicopters of the Mi-8 series, etc. The missiles should complement the family of S-8 unguided aircraft missiles of 80 mm caliber.
At the end of March, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, at a meeting of the Coordinating Council for meeting the needs of the Russian Armed Forces, said that the government had taken measures to multiply the production of weapons in demand. The prime minister noted that the needs of the Russian army in technology “greatly increased.” For its supply, the factory capacities of enterprises of the military-industrial complex are used to the maximum, he added. In addition, investment projects are being implemented to develop production, including all cooperation.
