The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, is developing an automatic scheme to ban the sale of goods at a store checkout if the raw materials are found to be of poor quality. Izvestia reported this.

According to information obtained from the state commission’s protocol, if Rosselkhoznadzor finds that products are of poor quality or pose a safety risk, such goods will be automatically blocked at the checkout. The mechanism for blocking illegal goods at the checkout will become an operational tool for supervisory authorities, which will help minimize the risks of purchasing such products.

According to the newspaper, in order to obtain an automatic ban at any cash register in the country, two systems will have to be combined into one – “Mercury” of Rosselkhoznadzor, which contains information about veterinary documents for raw materials for products, and “Honest Sign” of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies, which collects data on labeled finished products. products and their circulation in retail.

Rosselkhoznadzor will monitor information from these databases. If it turns out that the raw materials for the finished product were insufficient, then it may turn out to be counterfeit. Then Rosselkhoznadzor will begin checking the data. As soon as violations are confirmed, the department will quickly block the goods at the checkout.

Such a mechanism will improve control over the quality and safety of goods offered on the market and protect consumer rights.
