Rosrybolovstvo promised to reduce prices for red caviar and pink salmon

Good catches and increased production create the preconditions for lower prices for pink salmon and red caviar. The head of Rosrybolovstvo, Ilya Shestakov, spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, fishing companies have already reduced prices by about one and a half times. Shestakov expressed the hope that retailers will now react to the reduction in product prices and will also rewrite the price tags.
Rosrybolostvo clarified that the production volumes of salmon caviar for the period from January to September 2023 were almost three times higher than in the same time period last year and exceeded 2021 by three percent. Earlier, the head of the department announced a possible doubling of red caviar production in the country.
According to the Fishing Union, the domestic Russian market usually consumes 16-17 thousand tons of salmon caviar per year. At the same time, in 2021, the record of which was broken by this year, about 23 thousand tons were produced.
