Rospotrebnadzor ruled out the risk of bringing plague from the Gobi-Altai aimag of Mongolia to Russia
Rospotrebnadzor stated that the risk of bringing plague into Russia from Mongolia, where a human case of this disease was registered in the Gobi-Altai administrative district, is excluded.
As noted, the territory where the case of the disease was recorded is located at a distance of more than 500 km from the Russian border and has a border with China.
Mongolian specialists have taken measures aimed at preventing the spread of infection, including the introduction of restrictive measures and the identification and isolation of persons at risk of infection.
Rospotrebnadzor noted that the case of the disease was associated with the consumption of infected marmot meat that lived in the natural focus of the plague, and that the necessary set of preventive measures had been provided in Russia.
Russian specialists also maintain constant interaction with Mongolian colleagues.
