The Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Republic of Buryatia suspended the activities of the sanatorium and health camp “Baikalsky Bor”, where on August 23 there was a mass poisoning of children. According to the press service of the department, 26 children and two camp workers are known to have suffered from a food infection.

“The department is conducting an epidemiological investigation, a set of anti-epidemic measures has been organized, in particular, laboratory examinations, medical observation of contact persons, and disinfection measures. In addition, samples were taken from food and water,”— noted in the message.

The press service of the government of Buryatia addthat at present children are taken out of the camp in Ulan-Ude centrally. In total, 206 people rested in the Baikalsky Bor. Six of the poisoned children were hospitalized. The regional TFR and the prosecutor’s office of Buryatia are conducting the necessary checks on the fact of mass poisoning.
