The Rospotrebnadzor office for the Primorsky Territory did not detect radiation contamination in local fish due to the release of water from the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant. The department clarified that we are talking about fish from any part of the Pacific Ocean, as well as those imported from other countries.
“The Rospotrebnadzor Office continues to monitor and study the level of radioactivity in fish and seafood after the release of water from the Japanese Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant. There are no positive findings,” the department’s press service told TASS.
August 24, Japanese company Tokyo Electric Power started resetting water from a nuclear power plant into the ocean. China completely banned import of Japanese “aquatic products”, including seafood. Rosselkhoznadzor in the same month strengthened control over fish products from Japan. At the end of September Rospotrebnadzor reportedthat no hazardous products were identified after the release of water from nuclear power plants in Russia.
