Rosobrnadzor will collect data on schoolchildren and students for military registration

Rosobrnadzor will collect information for military registration about students in schools, colleges and universities. The data collected by the department will be sent to the relevant state information resource.

As noted in the Russian government decree, published on the official portal of legal information, the authority of the department will include collecting data on students in programs of secondary vocational education, bachelor’s, specialty, master’s, residency, assistantship-internship, training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel. A document expanding the powers of Rosobrnadzor has already been signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

After processing, the collected data on conscripts will be entered into the unified military registration register of the Russian Federation. The law on the creation of this register, which allows conscripts to be notified using electronic summons, was signed by President Vladimir Putin in April of this year. According to document, the summons is considered served from the moment it appears in your personal account. From this day on, the conscript is prohibited from traveling abroad; after 20 days, other restrictions will be imposed on him – on driving a car and processing real estate transactions.

In July, the Federation Council adopted a number of laws clarifying the conditions for conscripting citizens into military service. Senators, in particular, approved a tenfold increase in the fine for failure to appear at the military registration and enlistment office on a summons and a ban on traveling abroad after its appearance.
