An ex-employee of the Moscow Investigative Committee was arrested in absentia for a bribe of 7.3 billion rubles in bitcoins, reports the Newsatch/Dvach telegram channel.

Reportedly, the former deputy head of the investigative department for the Tverskoy district, together with the ex-head of this department and the investigator, is accused of receiving multibillion-dollar bribes. Among those who gave the bribe are members of a hacker group.

The message says that a former employee of the Investigative Committee, knowing that there were more than 5,000 bitcoins in the hackers’ accounts, drew up inspection protocols for crypto wallets, in which he indicated that there was no money there. He valued his services at 2,718 bitcoins (7.3 billion rubles).

Moreover, he is now on the international wanted list – presumably, he is hiding abroad. The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested him in absentia.
