Rosobrnadzor announced changes to the Unified State Examination in 2023

In Russia, documents have been published regulating the content of control measuring materials (CMM) for the unified state exam (USE) in 2023. Draft documents were presented by the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements, informs Rosobrnadzor.

In 2023, the adjustment of examination models for most academic subjects continues in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard (FSES), the agency recalled. Unified State Exams have been held on the basis of the Federal State Educational Standard since 2022.

Among other things, the following changes are expected:

• in the Unified State Examination in the Russian language, the wording, the system of answers and the range of the presented language material in a number of tasks have been changed;
• the structure of KIM in specialized mathematics is also regrouped by thematic blocks;
• in the Unified State Examination in Physics, the arrangement of tasks in part 1 of the examination paper has been changed;
• task 23 of the USE in chemistry to test the ability to calculate the concentrations of substances in an equilibrium system will now be given not in tabular form, but in text form;
• in the USE in biology, the number of tasks has been increased from 28 to 29;
• in the Unified State Examination in History, the number of tasks has been increased from 19 to 21, and the time to complete the examination work has been increased from 180 to 210 minutes; the examination work includes a task to test knowledge of the facts of the history of the Great Patriotic War and a task to test the ability to compare historical events, processes and phenomena;
• in the USE in social studies, the maximum score for completing task 3 was reduced from 2 to 1 point;
• in the exam in literature, the indication of the exact number of correct answers in task 9 was removed;
• In the Unified State Examination in foreign languages ​​(English, German, French and Spanish), the number of tasks in Section 3 “Grammar and Vocabulary” has been reduced from 20 to 18;
• in the Unified State Examination in Informatics, task 6 in 2023 will be devoted to the analysis of the algorithm for a specific performer, determining the possible results of the work of the simplest algorithms for managing performers and computational algorithms.

There are no changes in the USE in geography in 2023.

The USE is a centralized examination in secondary educational institutions – schools, lyceums and gymnasiums. It serves as both a final exam from school and an entrance exam to universities.
