The executive director of Roscosmos for manned space programs, Sergei Krikalev, after the depressurization that occurred on the Progress MS-21 cargo ship, said that the state corporation would analyze the possible cause of the incident. According to Mr. Krikalev, there was a coolant leak on the ship from the ship’s thermal control system, which is also reported NASA.
A representative of Roscosmos compared the current incident with what happened on the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft in December, when happened depressurization of the external radiator circuit.
“We will have to think about how to get information about what this hole looks like, what could be the reason,” Sergei Krikalev told reporters (quoted from “Interfax”). The state corporation will analyze the incident on the Progress, evaluating the technologies and materials in preparing the ship for launch, as well as when assembling the radiator.
Docked to the International Space Station today, February 11, Progress will be deorbited on schedule on February 18. Earlier, Roskosmos reported that nothing threatens the astronauts.
