Roskosmos announced 100 consecutive successful launches

Since the fall of 2018, Roskosmos has already carried out 100 successful launches of space rockets, informed Telegram channel of the state corporation.

“At the same time, 46 launches were made from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, 36 from Plesetsk, nine each from the Vostochny Cosmodrome and from the Guiana Space Center,” Roscosmos said.

The Soyuz family of rockets accounted for 82 launches, and 11 more for Proton-M launch vehicles. There were also four launches of Angara rockets and three launches of Rokot launch vehicles.

The state corporation also said that Russia continues to update the record set back in June 2021 in its modern history, when the 60th successful launch in a row was carried out. The previous achievement was 59 consecutive successful launches, which were carried out in February 1992 – March 1993.

The 100th rocket was the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle, running earlier today with the Progress MS-22 space truck to the ISS from Baikonur. The docking of the spacecraft with the Zvezda module is scheduled for February 11.

In July 2022, the head of Roskosmos, Yuri Borisov, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the withdrawal from the ISS project and the development of a Russian orbital station. According to Borisov, the future of Russian manned cosmonautics should be based primarily on a balanced and systematic scientific program so that each flight provides knowledge in the field of space.

In November of the same year, Borisov called it premature to talk about Russia’s withdrawal from the ISS project. The timing of participation in the program will depend on several factors at once, in particular on the technical condition of the Russian segment of the ISS and the timing of the deployment of its own Russian orbital station, Borisov explained.
