Starting today, March 1, a ban in Russia on advertising and popularization of services that allow you to bypass blocking, including VPN, came into force. This law was adopted in the summer of 2023. Roskomnadzor will block instructions, links to download programs to bypass blocking, and any messages promoting the use of such services.
Anticipating a ban on “popularizing VPNs,” some Internet resources began deleting information about such services and network settings already in February. They have introduced automated systems and new rules for content moderation.
According to Kommersant sources, The share of search traffic for VPN articles for large sites was negligible.
