According to the site, the basis for blocking Patreon was a pacifist statement by Doxa magazine, published on February 25 on this platform. The entire site is unavailable due to HTTPS blocking. Earlier, Roskomnadzor filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Basmanny Court demanding that the registration certificate of Novaya Gazeta be invalidated. On March 28, Roskomnadzor issued a second warning to the editors and founder of Novaya Gazeta for mentioning an NPO-foreign agent without labeling. The publication received its first similar warning on March 22. Roskomnadzor demanded to immediately edit the material and report it.

Prior to this, the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the activities of the publication as undesirable in Russia, a similar decision was made in relation to Bellingcat (recognized as a foreign agent) and a number of other organizations.
