Roskomnadzor announced the collection of redundant personal data by Internet services

The rules for the collection of personal data (PD) and the conclusion of user agreements can be fixed by amendments to the law “On Personal Data”. The need for this was announced in early March by the director of the Center for Legal Assistance to Citizens in the Digital Environment (part of the Main Radio Frequency Center subordinate to Roskomnadzor (RKN) Lyudmila Kurovskaya during a speech at the RKN webinar. According to a Vedomosti source close to the service, the department is already developing relevant bill.
Now there is no definition of the user agreement in the legislation and it can contain a variety of information: a description of the functions of the service, rules for copying copyrighted materials, etc., Kurovskaya said. In practice, the agreements cover a wider range of legal relations, regulating not only the conditions for using the site and the information posted on it, but also, for example, the conditions for making transactions on the site, the expert clarified.
