Rosfinmonitoring included the coordinator of the “Left Front” Sergei Udaltsov in scroll persons and organizations in relation to whom there is information about their involvement in extremist activities or terrorism. On January 12, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested him in the case of justifying terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

December 21, 2023 Sergey Udaltsov was detained on Red Square for an unauthorized rally in honor of the birth of the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Joseph Stalin. January 11, 2024 regarding him aroused criminal case for justification of terrorism. The activist’s posts on social networks became the reason for criminal prosecution. According to Sergei Udaltsov himself, the posts were written in support of five members of a Marxist circle from Ufa who were arrested in connection with the creation of a terrorist community.

January 12 Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Sergei Udaltsov. He will remain in Moscow pre-trial detention center-7 until February 15. According to Part 2 of Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, he faces from five to seven years in prison. Mr. Udaltsov does not admit guilt.
