Rosenergoatom spoke about Ukraine’s attempts to recruit employees of the Zaporozhye NPP

Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of Rosenergoatom, said that the Ukrainian side is trying to recruit employees of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which has come under Russian control. According to him, Ukrainians do it by phone.

“Ukraine has stepped up efforts to recruit employees. In Kyiv, they have become insolent to such an extent that they are trying to recruit directly by phone. And insolently they say on the phone: “You record audio, video, and we will allow you to work at a nuclear power plant, but then you will do what we say,” said Mr. Karchaa.

According to him, people “hold on”, despite all the threats and recruitment. The adviser to the head of Rosenergoatom noted that the Ukrainian side is threatening the station workers and their families and is trying to organize sabotage.

Renat Karchaa said that Rosenergoatom has a sufficient personnel reserve to fill all positions at the Zaporozhye NPP. However, according to him, today there is no such need.

October 5 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Decree on the transfer of the Zaporizhzhya NPP to Russian jurisdiction. The station is operated by Rosatom’s subsidiary, Rosenergoatom. At ZNPP blocked passes of employees who did not want to renew the contract with the operating organization. Among those who refused were those who “sabotaged the work”, “spoke hostilely” against Russia, its military and Rosatom, and also “spread destructive moods in the team.”
