Images of Cyclone Olga obtained by Roscosmos were published in Telegram channel organizations. A satellite image taken by the Meteora-M satellite shows the movement of Cyclone Olga from the southern part of Greenland towards the Volga region.
The peak of the North Atlantic cyclone is expected in Moscow today. Roscosmos specialists also predict that up to a quarter of the monthly rainfall will fall in Moscow by the weekend. They warn of the possibility of snowdrifts up to 58 centimeters high, which was last observed in 1999.
Earlier, the Hydrometeorological Center also warned of impending snowfall in the Moscow region with increased winds caused by the movement of the cyclone and its atmospheric fronts through Central Russia.
