The migrant adopted a boy from the city of Prokopyevsk in order to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Kemerovo Region.
According to the police, the 32-year-old woman met a foreigner at a resort in October 2021 and later married him. To help her husband obtain Russian citizenship, she agreed to his adoption of her son. It is known that from August 2022 to the present, the boy has been in a social rehabilitation center for minors. The migrant never lived with his stepson and did not perform parental responsibilities.
The prosecutor’s office sent a statement demanding that paternity be recognized as fictitious. The judge granted the claim. The foreign citizen was deprived of citizenship: he must voluntarily leave the country within 15 days, otherwise he will face deportation.
The issue of bringing the teenager’s mother to criminal liability under Part 1 of Art. 322.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia “Organization of illegal migration.” The maximum penalty is 5 years in prison.
