The Roscosmos State Corporation in its official press release confirmed the detention of Deputy General Director for State Defense Procurement Oleg Frolov.
“The Roscosmos State Corporation confirms the fact of the detention of Oleg Frolov,” the message says. It is also noted that at the moment all details regarding the charges and investigative measures in the framework of the criminal case are under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Investigative Committee filed charges of large-scale fraud against the Deputy General Director of the state corporation Roscosmos, Oleg Frolov, and his accomplices. Investigators believe that the deputy head of the state corporation took advantage of his official position and entered into a conspiracy with accomplices, and then, during the implementation of a contract for the purchase of equipment, at least 435 million rubles of budget funds were stolen. The court authorized the arrest of all three defendants, and the investigation continues.
A day earlier, the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow handed down a verdict in the case of former Minister of the Open Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Abyzov, who was charged with creating a criminal community, money laundering, illegal entrepreneurship and commercial bribery. Although the politician insisted on his innocence and the absence of victims, he received 12 years in prison and a fine of 80 million rubles.
