The Romanian football club “Otselul” refused to hold a friendly match with the Krasnoyarsk “Yenisei”, said the director of the Russian team Alexei Ivakhov. According to him, Ocelul did this because of the threat of deducting points in the national championship, received from the Romanian Football Federation (FRF).
Mr. Ivakhov said that the Romanian team refused to play an hour before the start of the match. The contract for its holding was concluded a week ago. “The team from Romania reached our field in Antalya 70 km from the city of Side, entered the field and prepared for the pre-match warm-up. After a call from the federation and a warning about the withdrawal of points from the main Romanian championship for the game with the Russians, they turned around, got on the bus and left, ”wrote Alexei Ivakhov in Telegram.
He also told RIA Novosti that Yenisei would demand €10,000 compensation from Otselul for canceling the game. The match between Yenisei and Otselul was supposed to start at 11:00 Moscow time. In January, the Bulgarian “Levski” also refused to play matches with the Moscow “Spartak” and “Ural” due to pressure from the fans.
