The EU did not agree on joint purchases of ammunition for Ukraine
The member states of the European Union again failed to agree on joint purchases of ammunition for the needs of the Ukrainian army. This was reported on Wednesday, April 26, by the Polish media.
One of the European diplomats told the radio station RMF FM on condition of anonymity, that “the supply of ammunition from the EU to Ukraine is causing increasing embarrassment.”
Earlier, the European Union agreed to transfer a million 155 mm ammunition to the Ukrainian army. Brussels allocated 1 billion euros for these purposes, and the same amount was planned to be spent on joint purchases of ammunition to replenish the European countries’ own stocks. However, according to informed sources, in Europe doubt the feasibility of this plan.
It was reported that France blocks decision on financing the supply of ammunition to Ukraine. At the same time, the consent of all EU members is required for the implementation of the plan.
