Roskomnadzor explained the reason for blocking the SpreadTheSign sign language dictionary website by the presence of fakes on the resource about a special military operation in Ukraine. The press service of the department reported this “Interfax”.

“Access to the resource is limited in accordance with Art. 15.3 of the Federal Law “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection”. The reason for this was the dissemination on the site of fakes about a special military operation, which the owner of the resource did not remove within the period established by law at the request of Roskomnadzor,” the department reported.

Earlier, the media reported that the SpreadTheSign sign language dictionary was blocked in Russia. According to the department’s resource, access to the site was blocked, but it was not specified at whose request.

SpreadTheSign, a multilingual online sign language dictionary, was launched in 2006. It provides information on over 30 sign languages. The service was available on the website and app.
