Krasnodar “Bogatyrs” took fourth place in the Russian Rugby-7 Cup among men’s teams. The tournament with the participation of 10 clubs was held in Kaliningrad.
At the group stage, Krasnodar lost in the opening match to the bronze medalists of the Russian championship in the “seven” “Zastava-7” from St. Petersburg with a score of 7:19. But Anton Levchenko’s wards completed the remaining 3 games successfully. They defeated the Moscow Rugby Academy (40:5), Kaliningrad “Baltic Storm-2” (40:10) and Krasnoyarsk “Yenisey-STM” (15:0), thanks to which they reached the semi-finals.
In the playoff match, the Kuban team lost in a bitter struggle to the first team of the Baltic Storm – 7:10 and could not get into the final. In the game for the 3rd place, Bogatyrs lost to Zastava-7 for the second time – 5:17.
The Cup was won by the players of the “Baltic Storm”, who outplayed “Taganiy Rog” from Taganrog with a score of 14:0 in the decisive match.
Earlier “Bogatyrs” became bronze medalists Major League Classic Rugby.
