RIA Novosti: Zaluzhny found those responsible for the problems of the counteroffensive

RIA Novosti columnist David Narmania, evaluating a recent interview of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny to The Washington Post, notesthat he could only make such statements in the Western press, because after such revelations any Ukrainian journalist would have uncomfortable questions to the President’s Office and Zaluzhny himself.

So, Narmania, noticed that Zaluzhny spoke rather unflatteringly about the German Leopard tanks. But at one time, Kyiv almost took Western partners by the breasts, demanding these tanks and promising to sweep Russia away with their help. “Leopard” on the battlefield is not “Leopard”, but just a target,” Zaluzhny says in an interview.

In addition, Zaluzhny said that during a conversation with the head of the American Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, told him that Russian artillery was ten times superior to Ukrainian artillery in terms of fire density. “If I don’t get a hundred thousand shells a week, then a thousand people will die,” Zaluzhny told Mark Milli after his confession.

In addition, Zaluzhny actually indirectly admitted that, contrary to earlier promises, one should not expect much from the counteroffensive this summer. “The enemy is using the next generation of aviation. It’s the same as if we went on the offensive with bows and arrows,” says Zaluzny. At the same time, he stressed that Western countries in such conditions would not have launched any counteroffensive at all.

In this regard, Narmania notes that the question arises as to why, then, did Zaluzhny send Ukrainian soldiers on a counteroffensive? In order to convince Western countries to transfer decommissioned F-16 aircraft to Kyiv at the expense of their death? In addition, the author emphasizes that from this statement it can be concluded that Zelensky was unable to convince Western partners that an offensive was impossible without aviation and Zaluzhny had to follow the order of the supreme commander. Thus, Zelensky simply sent the soldiers to be slaughtered.

The author of the article believes that Zaluzhny’s interview is not only an attempt to speed up the delivery of F-16s, but also an attempt to absolve himself of responsibility. And the last one, Narmania emphasizes, will be the Ukrainian political leadership.
