RIA Novosti: RANEPA Rector Mau left for Israel

Rector of the RANEPA Vladimir Mau, who was previously a defendant in a criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale as part of an organized group, left for Israel. This was reported by the source of RIA Novosti.
“He left today,” a source familiar with the situation told the agency. The source did not name the reason why Vladimir Mau could fly to Israel.
Criminal case against Vladimir Mau stopped in the middle of October. The investigation considered him involved in the non-fulfillment of agreements between the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (Shaninka) and the Foundation for New Forms of Education Development, and in the fictitious employment of 12 employees. Vladimir Mau pleaded not guilty.
The defendants in this case were also the rector of Shaninka Sergey Zuev, the ex-head of the Ministry of Education Marina Rakova and her husband Artur Stetsenko. According to the investigation, Vladimir Mau fictitiously employed Marina Rakova’s assistant at the Federal Institute for the Development of Education, RANEPA.
Today, November 2, became knownthat the investigator asks to release Marina Rakova and mitigate the measure of restraint for Sergei Zuev, who is under house arrest. The next court hearing in the case will take place tomorrow, November 3.
