All Muscovites are invited to the Great Ethnographic Dictation

“Many peoples – one country” – under this motto, on November 3, the International Educational Action “Great Ethnographic Dictation” will be launched. It will be possible to write a paper until November 8 at the face-to-face platform at the Moscow House of Nationalities or in an online format.
According to experts from the Federal Agency for Nationalities, the organizer of the dictation, its main goal is to draw people’s attention to the history, culture and traditions of the peoples inhabiting our country, and thus raise the level of ethnographic literacy of the population. By the way, over the five years of the ethnographic dictation, the number of its participants has increased more than seven times: from 367 thousand people in 2017 to 2769 thousand people in 2021.
Dictation assignments will be available from November 3 on the website https://miretno.ru. Within 45 minutes, the participants of the dictation will have to answer 30 questions: 20 of them are devoted to general federal issues, 10 – regional, unique for each subject of the Russian Federation. The maximum score for the test is 100 points.
Participants of the dictation will be able to receive the result of the test immediately after the completion of the work.
According to Igor Barinov, head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, it is very important that after this action, the people of Russia have a desire to study their roots, the traditions of their ancestors, and learn more about those who live nearby.
