Reznikov: Ukraine will not be offered NATO membership at this stage

Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with the newspaper Financial Times said that at this stage of hostilities, Ukraine would not be offered membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
He clarified that the representatives of Kyiv understand and recognize this.
“The adoption of a unanimous political decision during the hot phase of the conflict is very unlikely,” Reznikov said.
At the same time, one of the arguments for inviting Ukraine to NATO is the fact that it is the only country in the world that has combat experience in “containing the Russians.” In this conflict, the Armed Forces of Ukraine use NATO-style weapons.
“What other argument is needed for Ukraine to be accepted into the North Atlantic Alliance?” Reznikov emphasized.
