Putin: Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 259 tanks since the beginning of the counteroffensive

Since the start of the counter-offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 259 tanks and 780 armored vehicles. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with pilots in the Kremlin.

“Now they just gave me updated information. Since the beginning of the so-called counter-offensive there, the enemy has lost 259 tanks, 780 armored vehicles, ”he said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).

According to the head of state, over the past week, in the Orekhovsky direction alone, which is the main direction of attack, the enemy has lost 280 pieces of equipment, including 41 tanks and 102 armored vehicles. For this, Putin expressed special gratitude to the Russian military.

In the daily report of the Ministry of Defense on June 27 reportedthat in the Orekhovsky tactical direction, Russian troops managed to stop and throw back a motorized infantry platoon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Russian servicemen stopped the activities of two groups of saboteurs in the area of ​​​​the village of Chervonaya Dibrova in the LPR.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations since June 4. On June 22, at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with permanent members of the Security Council, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after conducting active hostilities over the past 16 days, having suffered “significant losses”, reduced their activity. According to him, now the Ukrainian army is regrouping. As Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said at the same meeting, the loss of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the start of the counteroffensive in June exceeded 13,000 people.
