Some Finns, as noted by the agency, in addition to preparing firewood, are refurbishing their homes to reduce energy consumption. Finns are also stocking up on burners, solar panels and heat pumps.
Finland used to export a third of its energy consumption from the Russian Federation. “And now we are close to zero,” admits Riku Huttunen, head of the Department of Energy and Climate at the Ministry of Economy and Employment of Finland.
