Rosaviatsiya representative Artyom Korenyako said that at 19:32 restrictions were introduced at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg.

He noted that measures have been taken to ensure the safety of civil aircraft.

Korenyako did not provide any details. He only noted that aircraft crews, air traffic controllers, and airport services are taking all necessary measures.

After 20:00, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency, restrictions in Pulkovo were lifted. The department reported that there were no aircraft departures to alternate airfields.

On Saturday morning it was reported that an explosion occurred in St. Petersburg, which damaged the facades of two five-story buildings. The Russian National Guard reported that the likely cause of the explosion was the fall of a drone. Eyewitnesses also reported hearing the sound of an engine running in the air before the explosion.
