Restrictions imposed on Sakhalin due to the increase in the incidence of SARS and influenza

According to the results of the second week of January, more than 3.3 thousand cases of ARVI were registered in the Sakhalin Region, including 68 cases of influenza. The total incidence rate exceeded the weekly epidemic threshold by 71.6%, in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk by 89.3%, and the highest rates of exceeding the epidemic threshold are observed among children under six years of age. In this regard, the mask regime for hospital and catering staff and some other restrictions have been introduced in the region.
As reported in the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, due to an increase in the incidence, the second section of the “Comprehensive Action Plan for the Prevention of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Viral Infections among the Population of the Sakhalin Region for 2022–2026” was put into effect. This section of the plan introduces restrictions on holding all public events for children indoors, the mandatory wearing of masks for staff in stores, catering establishments and consumer services.
In healthcare institutions, a mandatory mask regime is established. Also introduced a ban on visiting patients in hospitals.
In schools, the cabinet system of education is canceled, in institutions of preschool and secondary education, prophylaxis will be carried out using immunobiological preparations in order to prevent cases of influenza and SARS.
It is noted that restrictive measures will be in effect until the epidemiological situation stabilizes.
