Resorts in the Krasnodar Territory have received 17.5 million tourists since the beginning of 2023. By the end of the year, it is planned to increase the number of tourists to 18.5 million, which will exceed the regional record by more than 1 million people, Vice Governor Alexander Ruppel said at a meeting of Russian regions on the upcoming winter tourist season. The head of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratyev, in his Telegram channel reported that more than 2.5 million vacationers are expected during the winter season.

“As of November 15, we broke the historical record – we have already received 17.5 million. By the end of the year, we expect at least 18.5 million tourists,” said Mr. Ruppel (quoted from “Prime”).

The previous record was set in 2022, when more than 17.4 million people visited the region. The number of holidaymakers has exceeded the peaks of 2014 and 2018, when the region hosted the Olympic Games and the World Cup. In those years, the number of tourists was 13 million and 16 million people, respectively.

The number of hotel rooms in the Krasnodar Territory for December-January is already 40% booked, in the mountain resorts of Sochi – almost 60%. The most popular are the mountain cluster in Sochi, sanatoriums and hotels in Gelendzhik and Anapa, Mr. Kondratyev said. He noted the interest of tourists in other recreational areas in the region, in particular in the hot springs of the Absheron and Mostovsky districts and Goryachiy Klyuch. According to the governor, the depth of holiday bookings in the Krasnodar Territory reaches four months.
