Tomsk wheelchair athletes won several medals at the Russian Boccia Championship. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration.
Competitions were held from 13 to 16 April in the city of Aleksin, Tula region. More than 100 people from 27 subjects of the Russian Federation took part in the competition.
“According to the results of the tournament, Sofia Babkina (BC2 class) won the gold medal in the individual competition, Ivan Murashev (BC1 class) became the bronze medalist. Sofya Babkina, Ivan Murashev and Oleg Abramenko took silver in the team trio,” the message says.
All athletes from Tomsk are trained by Oleg Sharepa.
Boccia is a sports discipline for people moving in a wheelchair. This sport is included in the program of the Paralympic Games.
Earlier Tomsk biathletes returned with medals from the Anna Bogaliy Cup.
