Activist Altyn Kapalova reported on social networks that the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, in accordance with the order of the Constitutional Court, is preparing a bill according to which citizens of the country who are 16 years old will have the right to choose between patronymic and match.
It is clarified that at the moment the Kyrgyz government is developing amendments to the legislation on the institution of mating / matronym. They will give the right to children who are 16 years old to indicate in documents instead of patronymic names.
According to Kapalova, this decision will allow any adult citizen of Kyrgyzstan to take a match instead of a patronymic.
