Due to hurricane winds of up to 40 m/s and a storm, the sea began to flood private houses in Yevpatoria in western Crimea. The highway leading into the city from Simferopol is flooded. The evacuation of residents has been organized. Head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov reported on the creation of an operational headquarters.
Advisor to Sergei Aksenov Oleg Kryuchkov statedthat Krymspas employees are evacuating people from five flooded houses at the entrance to Yevpatoria. 15 people have already been evacuated and will be placed in boarding houses and sanatoriums.
“Right now there are 20 applications, but I think there will be many more. All teams of municipal enterprises and departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved. There were no injuries,” said the head of Yevpatoria, Elena Demidova.
The issue of blocking the flooded highway entering the city from Simferopol is being resolved. The Evpatoria-Saki road operates in a single-lane reverse mode. Due to the storm, the wind uproots trees.
