Residents of a Belgorod village were temporarily relocated due to an explosive device

An explosive object was discovered in the village of Vvedenskaya Gotnya, Rakityansky district, Belgorod region. The settlement is located 50 km from the state border with Ukraine. As Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in his Telegram channel, tomorrow sappers from the Ministry of Defense will begin work to remove the object, and some of the village residents will be temporarily transported to Rakitnoye.

People will be accommodated in the Molodezhny Palace of Culture, half an hour’s drive from Vvedenskaya Gotnya. Meals and leisure activities are provided for them. The abandoned houses will be guarded by the municipal self-defense unit. Once removed, the explosive item will be taken to a landfill for destruction.

In the Belgorod region, during the special military operation, residents of populated areas have already been resettled several times. So, in January of this year in the regional center evacuated 600 residents of Krasnoarmeyskaya Street due to an unexploded shell.

Since the beginning of last week, areas of the Belgorod region have been under heavy shelling from Ukraine. Over the previous week, 11 people were killed in the region, 82 were injured, and more than 900 residential premises and 10 social facilities were damaged in the regional center. Today, March 18, due to attacks in the Belgorod region died four people, eight more were injured.
