Repairs at a school in the village of Stanovoye: instead of a landfill, a gym

In the Lipetsk region, the federal project “Modernization of school education systems” includes two schools. One of them is a school in one of the most remote regional centers of the region, in Stanovoye.

According to the modernization program, this year the infrastructure will be updated in a two-story school in the village of Stanovoye. The program is not limited only to repair work – it implies a large-scale development of the school: the purchase of equipment, the latest classroom equipment.

The school building was built in 1988. But her story begins long before that – in 1887.

“Then the Ploschanskoye school was opened, and after 2 years it was noted as one of the best schools in the Yelets district,” says the deputy director of the MBOU “Sh s. Stanovoye Zhanna Meshcheryakova. – In 1984, the name was changed to Stanovlyanskaya secondary school in connection with the renaming of the district center from Ploskoye to Stanovoe.

Many graduates of the Stanovlyanskaya (Ploschanskaya) school connected their lives with the army. Among the former students there are poets, writers, outstanding teachers, medical workers, famous athletes, ballet dancers. In 2018, Vladimir Ivanovich Bulavin became an honorary citizen of the Stanovlyansky District, who from 2013 to July 2016 was the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District, and now heads the Federal Customs Service. Sergei Viktorovich Shcherbatykh graduated from the school with a silver medalist in 1999, who became a doctor of pedagogical sciences and rector of YSU. I.A. Bunin.

Interestingly, until 1954, for students in grades 7–10, tuition was paid, and amounted to 75 rubles per six months. Now, on the contrary, the state allocates money to create comfortable conditions for the education of children. Together with their parents, they also took part in the development of the design project. The contest “Our new school” was launched. Pupils of different classes wished that recreation areas appeared in the school. They are needed for communication in their free time from lessons, repetition of homework or extra classes, class hours.

The students will see all this very soon. In the meantime, workers at the school are painting cabinets, hanging doors, and have begun laying linoleum.

“Next week we are waiting for the delivery of equipment. It has already arrived at the catering department. In October, all deliveries will be in full. This includes visual equipment and sports equipment. The library fund has also been updated,” says Elena Merkulova, head of the education department of the administration of the Stanovlyansky municipal district.

She herself left after the eighth grade, and in the ninth grade her former classmates were just moving to the newly opened school.

“Since that time, there has been no major overhaul, only cosmetic. The roof was repaired in 2021. So it’s great that the school got under major renovation and everything else. United Russia and our governor were interested in the improvement of the area around the school,” Merkulova added.

Only the walls remained old – everything is completely new. Well, how could, for example, leave MDF in the corridors, which is not required by fire safety?

Now the walls are painted, the floor is tiled in the corridors, and the classrooms are linoleum, the ceilings are Armstrong. Local Internet networks were extended to each class. In the physics classrooms, electricity is supplied to each desk, and in the chemistry classrooms there is a sewerage system for conducting experiments. The basement used to be, in fact, a garbage warehouse, and now there is almost a third – zero – floor. There will be a ski base and exercise equipment.

“The deadlines are met, everything is strictly on schedule and in accordance with the norms. Well done, they work late and consult with their parents,” Tatyana Shatskikh, a representative of the parent community of the Stanovlyansk school, gives her assessment of the overhaul.

She said that they hired a professional designer who was interested in the opinion of parents about the color scheme. As a result, both pale blue and pale pink are present in the school.

“And it was offered, for example, light green,” the parent recalls. – But bright shades affect vision, and they can get bored. So we chose the quieter ones. The paint is very good, the walls can be wiped with a cloth. The lighting is good, the rooms are bright. We are satisfied”.

The Shatskys have a son, Anatoly, in the seventh grade at this school. Now classes are held in the building next door, which is usually attended by children from elementary school. I had to make room, the lessons are still being conducted in two shifts. But no one complains – the measure is forced. Yes, and Tolya, for example, at twenty minutes past five is already at home, he even manages to go to circles at the Center for Additional Education. But soon the training will go back to normal. Only now in a new, modern school, the opening of which both teachers, students and parents are looking forward to. According to the plan, the work should be completed by November 30.
