REO proposed to install vending machines in all Russian schools – Kommersant

Russian environmental operator (REO) offered install in all schools throughout the country vending machines for the reception of secondary raw materials, in particular plastic bottles and aluminum cans. The company sent a corresponding letter to the Ministry of Education addressed to Minister Sergey Kravtsov. REO notes that robotic ecopoints have already been installed in 245 Russian schools.

“The fandomat is a tool for environmental education that can promote environmentally responsible behavior from school. On the eve of the new academic year, the REO invites the Ministry of Education of Russia to consider the possibility of installing vending machines in schools in all regions of the country,” Denis Butsaev, head of the REO, said in a letter.

Mr. Butsaev noted that bonuses will be provided for the delivery of raw materials to vending machines for schoolchildren. As an example, he pointed out that students will be able to receive points or discounts on a transport card, communication services, purchases in stores or cafes of partner chains. If desired, the accrual of bonuses can be waived in favor of charitable projects.

The REO drew attention to the fact that vending machines have already been installed in schools in some Russian regions, in particular, in Moscow and the Moscow region. In addition, in September, with the support of REO and the manufacturer of vending machines RT-Invest (part of the state corporation Rostec), the campaign Ecochange: Turn in containers for a reward will start. 213 schools of the Moscow region will take part in it, in each of which vending machines will be able to accept dozens of containers for bonuses.
