Regulations for the interaction of city services during the passage of spring floods and floods were approved

Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov said that the authorities of the capital approved a special regulation on the interaction of city services during the passage of spring floods and floods.

The beginning of this period in the Moscow region usually falls at the end of March and the beginning of April. All necessary preparations have already begun. For example, monitoring of snow reserves was organized. The preparation of reservoirs, hydroelectric facilities, and other facilities of engineering and resource organizations has already begun.

So far, the flood situation in Moscow is normal and there is no rise in water levels.

Biryukov added that representatives of JSC Mosvodokanal, Federal State Budgetary Institution Moscow Canal and State Budgetary Institution Gormost signed the regulation on interaction.

The deputy mayor noted that the document fixed the areas of responsibility of the services and defined a clear algorithm for their actions during the passage of the flood. Organizations will exchange operational information on the hydrological situation, volumes and power of water flow.

“This will allow organizations to synchronize their work and go through this period without emergency situations,” emphasized Petr Biryukov.

He recalled that the capital is supplied with water by the river resources of three regions – Moscow, Smolensk and Tver. The Moscow region is provided by 15 reservoirs of two systems, Moskvoretsko-Vazuzskaya and Volzhskaya. They have a sufficient amount of free tanks to receive all the melt runoff to prevent flooding of the territories.
