Red Machine coaches conducted master classes for hockey players on Sakhalin

Trainers of the National Hockey Players Training Program “Red Machine”, organized by the Russian Hockey Federation, Andrei Ivanov and Vadim Krasnoslabodtsev, conducted master classes for young islanders. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region.

The classes were held as part of the visit to Sakhalin of the legendary hockey player, three-time Olympic champion, multiple world champion, President of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak. Master classes were held on the ice of the Crystal sports school.

– Last season we conducted classes in more than 120 sports schools throughout Russia. I can say with confidence that hockey is developing in our country, the guys are happy to play it, the overall level of play among the younger generation is growing,” Andrei Ivanov, coach of the “Red Machine” hockey player training program, shared the details. – Today we conducted separate warm-ups with the goalies, and also worked on the technique of handling skates, sticks and pucks. We organized the master class in a simple technical mode so that the guys could understand how to perform certain techniques, could acquire new skills, and then further improve them and apply them on the ice.

Participants in the classes included both guys who play hockey professionally and young Sakhalin residents from the amateur yard league. Among them is David Chasovskikh from the Barsy LHC (Dalneye village).

– Today I learned a lot of new things. There were several exercises that were quite difficult for me, which I had never done before. I was very glad to take part in a master class from hockey players of this level. I tried to remember as much as possible of what the coaches told and showed. Now I will try to use this during games,” 14-year-old David shared his emotions.

Let us remind you that as part of his visit to the island region, Vladislav Tretyak also attended the training of the first children’s sledge hockey team in the Far East, “Sakhalin Lion Cubs,” and a friendly match between the teams of the government of the Sakhalin region and the Sakhalin Energy company.
