Real accrued wages in Russia for 2023 increased by 7.8%, follows from the Rosstat report on the socio-economic situation (.pdf). The average monthly nominal salary at the end of last year, according to preliminary data, increased by 14.1% compared to 2022 and amounted to 73,709 rubles.
Real wages are the average accrued wages adjusted for inflation.
According to Rosstat, in December 2023, in real terms, accrued wages increased by 8.5% compared to December 2022. The average monthly salary in nominal terms in December 2023 was 103,815 rubles, an increase of 16.6% compared to December 2022.
The leaders in growth of average monthly nominal wages in nominal terms in 2023 were:
- clothing production (+23.9);
- production of electrical equipment (+23.7%);
- production of finished metal products (+23.5%);
- production of computers, electronic and optical products (+22%);
- production of other vehicles and equipment (+22.2%).
