RBC: the son of the former head of the CIB FSB Gerasimov became a candidate for deputy head of the Ministry of Emergencies
Director of the Department of Information Technologies and Communications of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Sergey Efimenko has submitted an application to the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation to evaluate a candidate for the position of Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Digital Policy. According to RBC citing sources in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Anton Gerasimov, the son of Andrey Gerasimov, the former head of the Information Security Center (CIS) of the FSB, is listed in the annex to the application.
“Experts from the Ministry of Digital Development will test Gerasimov’s managerial skills. In case of a positive assessment, his candidacy will be approved by the FSB and the presidential administration, ”said the interlocutor of RBC.
Currently, Anton Gerasimov holds the position of General Director of Aikumen - Information Business Systems JSC (part of the Rostelecom group of companies). The company specializes in the development of innovative technologies for collecting, storing and processing information in various languages of the world.
According to RBC, the candidate's father Andrei Gerasimov retired in 2017. A year earlier, the head of one of the CIB departments, Sergei Mikhailov, became a defendant in a criminal case on the transfer of operational materials from the FSB to the US special services. Court in 2019 acknowledged guilty of treason and sentenced to 22 years in prison.
