Peskov responded about the new position of the ex-head of Rostourism Doguzova

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the future of the former head of the abolished Rostourism Zarina Doguzova. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation answered the question of journalists about whether she would be able to continue working on the development of tourism in the Russian Federation in her new post.

"It will depend on her and on the proposals that have been made or will be made," Peskov stressed.

On Thursday it became known that the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation was abolished. This was done by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Its powers are transferred to the Ministry of Economic Development. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko will continue to supervise the industry in the Russian government.

Zarina Doguzova headed Rostourism in February 2019. Prior to that, in 2015, she was the head of the department for supporting major international events as part of the presidential administration for public relations and communications. In particular, she was responsible for the coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
