They returned to normal 2 hours after taking the medicine.

A rather unusual application for rarely used rhizomes of raspberry bushes was found by scientists from the Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy of the Russian Ministry of Health. Their experiments, during which they “fed” the extract of rhizomes of experimental rats, showed that the drug is able to reduce the blood sugar level of animals with diabetes.

As it became known to MK, for the preparation of the extract, experts suggest using the rhizomes of raspberries growing in the undergrowth: dense thickets of raspberries are not very suitable for harvesting berries, but they are quite suitable for extracting rhizomes. The researchers note that today methods of using rhizomes in traditional medicine are known, and professional doctors ignore it.

The experiment conducted by scientists involved two groups of adult rats of both sexes weighing 120-200 g. In rats of one of the groups, artificial diabetes was provoked by introducing a special drug. The day before the experiment, the rats stopped feeding, so the blood sugar level in the diabetic rats increased markedly. After 24 hours, raspberry rhizome extract was injected into the stomach of “sick” rats. The sugar level was measured after half an hour and after 2 hours. The amount of sugar in the blood of “diabetics” decreased after 30 minutes, and after 120 minutes, the sugar level in patients caught up with the sugar level in healthy people.

In addition, the effect of the extract was tested on white mice, as a result of which it was found that it is hypoallergenic. So, most likely, people will now take part in the experiment.
